LEAD ROLES
Hazel Steele (39) – A sharp, outspoken insurance account manager juggling career burnout, family responsibility, and a faltering longtime friendship. Underneath her confidence lies exhaustion and a longing for more than routine. Smart, funny, emotionally guarded, ultimately vulnerable.
Dr. Amara Bello (38) – A poised OB/GYN rebuilding her life after career burnout and the recent loss of her father. Launching her own private practice has become her coping mechanism, but loneliness lingers beneath the surface. Elegant, composed, introspective, quietly strong.
Warren Brooks (44) – Charming and quick-witted, a recently divorced new hire at Hazel’s firm with a background in healthcare sales. Hides emotional depth behind humor and optimism. Warm, funny, emotionally intelligent.
Charles Henley (40) – Amara’s ex and the devoted father of her teenage twins. Stable, dependable, quietly romantic. Considering a move to Chicago to support his family as old feelings resurface. Grounded, thoughtful, protective.
SUPPORTING ROLES
Kyra Daniels (39) – Hazel’s longtime best friend and a high school drama teacher. Bright, social, and ever-optimistic, Kyra is forgiving to a fault—always seeing the good in people, even when they don’t deserve it. Charming, bubbly, and sincere, she’s the heart of every room she walks into.
Reed Thompson (40) – Hazel and Kyra’s mutual best friend and Kyra’s fiancé. Pragmatic and protective, Reed is disciplined and loyal but learning to loosen up and live in the moment. Stoic on the surface, but deeply caring once you break through.
Kenny Steele (27) – Hazel’s carefree younger brother and aspiring music producer still living at home. A dreamer with big ambitions but little follow-through, he’s creative, charismatic, and impulsive—constantly chasing inspiration while avoiding responsibility. Charismatic, boyish, impulsive.
Diane Steele (60) – Hazel’s proud, strong-willed mother battling chronic illness and resisting help. Sharp, loving, stubborn, vulnerable beneath the surface.
Cade Emerson (47) – Hazel’s charismatic, well-meaning boss who values results and camaraderie in equal measure. Loves his dogs and his job—sometimes in that order. Energetic, approachable, slightly self-absorbed.
Mia Carter (28) – Cade’s charming but lazy assistant. Knows everything happening in the office but avoids doing most of the work herself. Stylish, witty, opportunistic.
Oliver Watts (33) – The reliable office multitasker who keeps everything running. Kind, efficient, the quiet backbone of the workplace. Dependable, friendly, understated humor.
Victor Reyes (35) – A personable account manager whose “relationship building” often takes priority over actual productivity. Charming, talkative, occasionally evasive.
